Housing Works has announced the schedule of events for the 12th-Annual Design on a Dime Benefit, held April 20thto 23rd at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street).

The 3-day benefit and sale features more than 60 of the world’s top interior designers who create unforgettable room vignettes with new merchandise. The merchandise is donated by over 200 top home décor and designer brands and available to guests at 50 to 70 percent off retail pricing to benefit Housing Works.

The benefit kicks off with the Groundbreaker Awards Dinner on Wednesday, April 20th, at the Altman Building. This year’s honorees will be announced in the coming weeks.

The following night, Alan Cumming, will host the VIP Opening Night Reception. The event brings together hundreds of VIPs, designers and friends of Housing Works for a special preview of the room vignettes, as well as exclusive shopping, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment.

The Opening Night Reception will be followed by two days of shopping open to the public.

Proceeds from Design on a Dime fund Housing Works’ newest supportive housing development, the Hull Street Residence. Hull Street is a from-the-ground-up housing development project transforming a vacant 6,000 sq. ft. lot into a beautiful and safe home for 28 single, formerly homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS.

James Huniford is the Founding Chair of Design on a Dime. This year’s Co-Chairs are Alessandra Branca, Michael Boodro, Nicole Gibbons, George Oliphant and Marisa Tomei.

Generous support for the 2016 Design on a Dime Benefit is provided by ELLE DECOR, Benjamin Moore, Gilead Sciences and Airsea Packing.
