Bob the Builder, the loveable star of the recently launched and eponymously named series on PBS Kids, is on his way to Los Angeles from Spring City to team up with Habitat For Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Mario Lopez (Extra-TV) and a crew of very excited volunteers from Mattel, Inc. to help with the construction and beautification of three new Inglewood homes in partnership with low-income Los Angeles families.

The build will take place between 3pm and 5pm on Tuesday, December 8, and feature children making gifts for the new residents as well as meet and greets with Bob the Builder.

The fun construction day celebrates the re-launch of Bob the Builder on PBS Kids with beautifully updated, CGI-animation, a brand new look for the series and its namesake — Bob and Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt voicing one of the lead roles — Wendy. No job is too big or small for Bob and his team, as they approach every job with positivity, enthusiasm and their catch phrase, “Can we build it? Yes we can!” For more information and interactive content visit www.bobthebuilder.com. Bob the Builder is a production of HIT Entertainment in association with THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET.

The build kicks off a partnership between Mattel, Inc. and Habitat for Humanity International, an organization aimed at creating and improving housing to help families achieve the strength, stability and independence to build brighter futures. Habitat’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to call home and to date has helped more than 6.8 million people in more than 70 countries.
