Award-winning actress and breast cancer advocate Christina Applegate and distinguished oncologist and women’s health advocate Dr. Philomena McAndrew will be honored for their persevering and courageous fight against breast cancer at the inaugural Jessica M. Berman WONDER WOMAN WALK for Breast Cancer, presented by Tower Cancer Research Foundation's (TCRF) and the Jessica M. Berman Memorial Foundation (JMBMF) on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Palisades Park, 851 Alma Real, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272.

Check-in begins at 8:00 AM PST; 5k walk begins at 9 AM PST. Over 600 registered walkers will participate in this family-friendly event, which celebrates breast cancer survivors and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Jessica M. Berman, a loving Los Angeles wife, mother and friend, was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer while five months pregnant with her son Leo. At the tender age of 34, she became a tireless fighter for her life, an inspiring advocate for others afflicted by this disease, and a prolific fundraiser for breast cancer research. Since childhood, Jessica had an affinity for Wonder Woman, the warrior princess fighting for justice and peace. She came to embody this heroine in her personal battle against breast cancer. Though Jessica passed away on August 24, 2014, at age 38, her legacy lives on through the WONDER WOMAN WALK.

The proceeds from the Walk will benefit the Jessica M. Berman Fund at Tower Cancer Research Foundation, which provides funding for important and innovative breast cancer research and patient support services.

TCRF has been the Southern California cancer patient’s greatest ally since 1996. The foundation is known for its stellar reputation professionally vetting cancer research programs and maximizing the impact of donor-investors. Tower, which is focused on Southern California, provides grants for clinical trials, innovative cancer research, caring patient support and community education. Tower’s vanguard LACanSurvive free patient support services program includes patient mentoring, cancer support groups, classes, workshops and support for caregivers. In line with its mission to advance cancer research on every level, Tower supports forward-thinking and talented physician scientists with awards of annual grants to those doing cutting edge bench-to-bedside lab research.
