Pink is encouraging her 26 million Twitter followers to join her in urging New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito to bring Intro 573 — the bill to retire horses from the city’s carriage trade — to a vote.

The new video that Pink shared with the speaker and her fans reveals not only cruelty to horses but also carriage drivers who repeatedly use racist, sexist, and anti-gay taunts against anyone who shows concern for the animals stuck in Midtown traffic.

Pink joins other notable supporters of Mayor Bill de Blasio's bill to retire the horses, including Peter Dinklage, Alec Baldwin, Tim Gunn, Edie Falco, and Alan Cumming — who last week called on the city council to join other major cities in banning horse-drawn carriages from busy metropolitan centers.
