This Saturday, May 2, Hope North founder Okello Sam will premiere his original play Forged in Fire, in New York City.

The show runs through May 15, tickets are available here.

To celebrate, Hope North supporter Mary-Louise Parker will host a special reception this Saturday, May 2, one hour prior to the show, at the theater. All ticket holders are welcome. You can count on surprise appearances from other well-known friends of Hope North at other shows.

The play is a one-hour journey, told with song, dance and humor, exploring Acholi and Ugandan traditions and their intersection with Uganda’s brutal civil war. It is also an homage to Okello’s younger brother Godfrey who was abducted and killed by Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army. All proceeds benefit Hope North.
