The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, today announced that platinum selling global megastar Mariah Carey will perform at the 2015 Los Angeles Gala Dinner this Saturday, March 14, 2015.

“Mariah Carey inspires the world with her incredible voice and amazing talent both on and off the stage,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “We are honored and grateful she will be performing at the 2015 HRC Los Angeles Gala Dinner as we highlight our continued work towards fairness and equality for LGBT people. Her performance is sure to make an incredible evening even more remarkable.”

Mariah Carey is the best-selling female artist of all time with more than 200 million albums sold to date and 18 Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles (17 self-penned), more than any solo artist in history. A five-time Grammy Award winner, she has also won 19 World Music Awards, 11 American Music Awards, and 31 Billboard Music Awards.

As previously announced, HBO President of Programming Michael Lombardo will be recognized with this year’s HRC Visibility Award, and Golden Globe winner Shonda Rhimes will be honored with this year’s HRC Ally for Equality Award. Senator Al Franken (D-MN) will be the featured speaker.

The HRC Los Angeles Gala Dinner, which is expected to draw over 1,000 guests, will be held this Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the JW Marriott LA Live with receptions starting at 5:00 PM. Tickets and further information are available at http://www.hrcladinner.com/.

A Congressional Award recipient, Mariah has generously donated her time and energy to a range of philanthropic causes near to her heart including Save The Music Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, World Hunger Relief, and the Elton John AIDS Foundation, among many others. A tremendous supporter of children’s charities, both domestic and international, Mariah founded Camp Mariah in partnership with the Fresh Air Fund, a retreat for inner city children to explore career development.

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. HRC envisions a world where LGBT people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
