Jack Johnson recently announced the 2014 All At Once Sustainability Award Winners.

Winners were chosen based on excellent existing greening practices as well as improvements and sustainability efforts made leading up to every show on Jack’s world tour.

From Jack’s website: "The recipients of the All At Once Sustainability Award in the “Green Leader” category, for ongoing excellence in waste reduction and sustainability measures, are the Santa Barbara Bowl in California (Nederlander) and the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland (IMP Presents). As part of Jack’s 2014 shows, the Santa Barbara Bowl launched the innovative new #MyCupAndMe initiative to reduce single-use disposable plastics. Additionally, the Bowl recently implemented an on-site waste sorting and management program and bike valet at every one of their shows. The Merriweather Post Pavilion has a fully integrated composting system on site as well as a solar-panels and a biodiesel fueling station with a pump for tour buses.

“Some venues made outstanding efforts leading up to Jack’s concert, working with our greening crew to improve sustainability practices. The All At Once Sustainability Award in the “Emerging Green” category is awarded to Nikon at Jones Beach in New York (Live Nation). Highlights of the environmental initiatives that Live Nation implemented at Jack’s shows at the Nikon at Jones Beach included providing 4,500 non-plastic water bottles which could be recycled on-site, utilizing LED lighting fixtures with occupancy sensors in all backstage rooms, encouraging fans and staff to carpool to the venue, providing special VIP parking to fans arriving in hybrid, electric or TDI vehicles, and donating all remaining food items from backstage and the concession stands to the local Long Island Food Bank.

“Honorable mention for sustainability efforts are awarded to Les Schwab Amphitheater in Oregon (Monqui), Greek Theater – Berkeley (Another Planet), Koka Booth Amphitheatre in North Carolina (Outback Concerts), The Saint Augustine Amphitheatre in Florida (AEG/Live Nation), and the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile (Lotus Productions). We congratulate these venues, show promoters and their hard-working staff for taking their environmental commitment to the next level!

“Jack and his crew took actions to minimize the environmental impact of the tour and engaged fans to join in the fun. Check out our full All At Once 2014 Impact Results and see how an individual action, multiplied by millions creates global change.”
