Courtney recently held a ladies Think Pink Ladies Luncheon at the sprawling mansion she shares with new husband, legendary rocker Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue, the two tied the knot in Summer this year. (The wedding is to be featured in a huge layout in the Winter issue of Inside Weddings, on news stands December 23rd).

Lucky guests were invited to enjoy a sunny afternoon of gourmet food, arts and crafts, music, delicious cocktails but were also encouraged to bring an unwanted item (new or barely used) that they had no further use for in their closet, either clothing, jewelry or accessories in support of Courtney’s charity of choice www.BrightPink.Org. Courtney’s guests did not disappoint, as guests arrived Courtney was surprised to find a rack brimming over with designer clothes, purses and jewelry from her big hearted friends.

" I could not believe it", she said, “I was a little nervous to even ask guests to bring items, I did not want to pressure them, but they all showed up with terrific items. It was more than I could have hoped for. I had intended to sell the items that day, but due to the number of kind donations, I decided to hold an online auction for a month which just ended and I was so pleased with the results, our little venture and afternoon luncheon raised $12,500.00 total. I was so happy, that means 125 mammograms in medical dollars, so we achieved our goal.”

Chrome Hearts CEO/Founder Laurie Lynn Stark brought designer items by FENDI, Vivienne Westwood and many others. Supermodel turned swim wear designer, Susan Holmes McKagen went as far to donate her entire new SS15 collection of bikinis and cover ups. Margaret Rowe Couture also donated a pair of stunning earrings, Courtney’s husband, who is also a two time New York Times best selling author as well as a rock star signed a few of his best selling books and which were quickly snapped up in the auction by his loyal fans!

In keeping with Courtney’s HOW2GIRL brand, which teaches how to live a fabulous lifestyle on a budget, guests made their own jewel encrusted pink ribbons at Courtney’s ’Pink Ribbon Crafting Station. Michaels Arts & Crafts kindly provided all the materials in support of the luncheon and the worthy cause. OC housewife Gretchen Rossi was particularly proud of her ribbon!

The cocktails were also in keeping with the pink theme, Soda Stream provided a bright pink machine and their various pink flavors with which Courtney designed signature cocktails for the event. Guests also had the option of www.onehopewine.com Chardonnay which donates 50% of profits to cancer charities. Chipz Happen also donated to the event.

The menu was also first class with the event being catered by The Admirable Crichton, a luxury catering company, established over 30 years ago in London who are now taking Los Angeles by storm with their impeccable standards which are called upon in locations such as Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace.

“At the end of the day we had a great time, and the auction was the icing on the pink cupcake, " quipped Courtney. “Now I can think about what to do next for my next charity endeavour, it feels good to give back!”
