IfOnly, an experiential marketplace that donates its proceeds to causes, is hosting an online sweepstakes to win the renowned actor’s one-of-a-kind typewriter. The sweepstakes is available online at IfOnly through December 2, 2014. Entries begin at $10 and will benefit Lifeline Energy.
A throwback to the days of metal, oil and ink, the Remington Rand typewriter was hand-selected by Hanks, who is an avid collector of vintage typewriters. The typewriter features the Oscar-winner’s personal signature and includes a never-before-seen note — signed, sealed and written by the screen legend on this very machine. Hanks, a typewriter enthusiast began his typewriter collection in the 1970s. His affection for typewriters evolved into the creation of the Hanx Writer app, which has the vintage feel of manual typewriters, including the nostalgic ding at the end of a line. Launched in August 2014, the Hanx Writer app hit the top of the charts as the most downloaded app in iTunes.

International Tom Hanks Day (THD) on March 28, which celebrates the actor and his causes, has been raising money for Lifeline Energy for 11 years.
