More than 1,200 prominent philanthropists, business and entertainment community leaders, local dignitaries and other hospital supporters will attend the sold out 2014 Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Gala: Noche de Niños.

Inspired by Dustin Meraz — an 11-year-old terminal cancer patient whose last wish was to inspire adults to have the courage to care for kids in need — the black tie celebration honors the hospital’s true heroes: the patients, their exceptional caregivers and the supporters who help make miracles happen every day. The signature event also raises fund to fill the hospital’s most critical needs.

This year, Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman, prominent philanthropists Sally and Bill Hurt, and Costco Wholesale will each receive the “Courage to Care Award” for their dedication and support of the hospital’s mission and the patients it serves. Awards will be presented by Jamie Lee Curtis and CHLA Board of Trustees Co-Chair, Ted Samuels, among others. Actor, author, producer, philanthropist and E! host Maria Menounos will serve as the night’s Master of Ceremonies. Acclaimed GRAMMY-winning artist Sergio Mendes and Brasil 2014 will kick off the festivities while four-time GRAMMY winner Seal will provide the evening’s headline entertainment. Dinner will be prepared by renowned celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

Also expected to attend are Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Denise Richards, Christopher Guest, Teri Hatcher, Kyle Maclachlan, Melanie Griffith, Weird Al Yankovic and many more.

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala: Noche de Niños is proudly sponsored by Delta Air Lines, Costco Wholesale, Kristin and Jeffrey Worthe, Erling West, Jr. Trust; Lisa and Adam Stoll, Carol and David Bienstock,. For more information, visit CHLA.org/GALA.

The sold-out event takes place on Saturday, October 11th at L.A. LIVE: 800 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles.
