Recording artist and former Disney actress Bridgit Mendler (“Good Luck Charlie” and “Wizards of Waverly Place”) announced today, via exclusive video, that she has launched a campaign on the celebrity charity-fundraising digital platform Prizeo.com.

Mendler’s campaign seeks to raise awareness and funds for Save the Children, the world’s top independent charity for children in need, and their annual “Make the World Better with a Sweater” holiday initiative.

Fans can participate by going to Prizeo.com/Bridgit. Those who participate in Mendler’s campaign will be entered into a drawing to win the ultimate fan experience: Mendler will fly to the winner, wherever they are in the world, to host a holiday “Make the World Better with a Sweater” party for them and their friends.

Make the World Better with a Sweater is Save the Children’s holiday fundraising campaign to give children all around the world a brighter future. On Friday, Dec. 12, they encourage donors to wear a holiday sweater, make a $5 donation and spread the joy by getting friends, family and colleagues involved with extra fundraising activities.

“The holidays are coming up, and this year I want to help spread the giving spirit in a way that is fun and meaningful for me and my fans,” said Mendler. “With this Prizeo campaign, we can support Save the Children’s incredible work, and my fans will have a chance to win a fun holiday party with me in their hometown!”

The grand-prize winner will be chosen at random and notified via e-mail soon after the campaign closes on Nov. 12, 2014. For full contest rules, click here. Prizeo enables stars to maximize the benefits of their social-media platforms on behalf of charities. Recent Prizeo campaigns featuring celebrities like One Direction, Zac Efron, Mark Ruffalo, Will Ferrell, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Samuel L. Jackson, George R.R. Martin, Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey, and Kobe Bryant have shown the immense power of social media to raise funds and awareness for charitable causes. A 2013 campaign featuring One Direction’s Harry Styles and Liam Payne raised nearly $800,000 for cancer research and prevention programs. Prizeo’s micro-donation model allows fans to donate for chances to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences with their favorite celebrities whose charities benefit from the online campaigns that run live on the site.
