Variety - The Children's Charity, has announced full details of the inaugural “Patrons of Variety” event taking place in the stunning setting of The Shard tonight (September 29th).
The star-studded evening, hosted by well-loved Radio and TV Presenter Gaby Roslin, will feature entertainment from Dynamo, as the Magician Impossible returns to the scene of
his most recent spectacular stunt. He will be joined by a host of musical talent, including acclaimed soprano superstar Laura Wright.
With over a million album sales under her belt, Wright is one of the biggest selling classical acts of the decade. Regularly performing in front of sold-out audiences at the likes of Twickenham and The Olympic Stadium, the young singer has achieved considerable mainstream success, and arrives on the wave of new album, “Sound of Strength”. She has previously worked with Patrons of Variety’s Founder and Chairman, Harold Tillman CBE, at the opening of the London Fashion Gala last year.
Also set to perform on the night are young kings of the acoustic cover, The Diamond Boys; star of “The Voice”, Moni Tivory; and hotly-tipped Scottish jazz musician, Jonathan Carr.
Renowned entrepreneur Harold Tillman, Founder and Chairman, gave the night his seal of approval: “The launch of Patrons of Variety brings Britain’s brightest young talent together in one room. We’re immensely proud to see our generous backers and the hottest stars turning out in force for the charity. Every one of these outstanding performers will be showcasing his or her own unique brand of magic – in Dynamo’s case quite literally – and those attending can look forward to an evening of first-rate entertainment in a beautiful setting.”
The newly-founded Patrons of Variety will comprise 50 individuals, each pledging £10,000 a year for three years, to help provide vital funds totaling £1.5m for Variety, the Children’s Charity.
The evening’s entertainment will commence at The View from The Shard, on the 72nd Floor of one of the world’s most iconic buildings. Guests will enjoy a Lanson champagne reception, with canapés from The London Kitchen, whilst taking in the breath-taking views. They will then continue to
Vinopolis for a three-course dinner, serenaded by the musicians before the festivities take one last magic twist with Dynamo’s arrival.
One of the oldest international children’s charities, Variety has so far raised more than £267 million to help children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged. Variety, the Children’s Charity, believes that neither disability nor disadvantage should prevent any child from reaching his or her full potential, and its Patrons will play an integral part in the realisation of this objective.
