On January 10, 2015, The Art of Elysium will celebrate its 8th Annual Heaven Gala, the night before The Golden Globes.
The 2015 visionary and creative force behind this year’s event is the highly recognized and pioneering performance artist Marina Abramović. The charity will also recognize Amber Heard as its 2015 Spirit of Elysium recipient for her years of volunteerism and tireless fundraising efforts on Elysium’s behalf.
“I am so thrilled to welcome Marina Abramovic into the VISIONARY Circle and sit in awe as she conceptualizes her HEAVEN,” said Jennifer Howell, founder of The Art of Elysium. "She would not be part of this family if it was not for the “spirit” of James Franco and his never ending giving. He brought her into the fold and I am forever grateful. I am also moved to tears to welcome Amber Heard into the SPIRIT Circle. She has been volunteering weekly (when she is in Los Angeles) for nearly a decade now and has donated costumes, art supplies, raised money and more for this organization. As these circles grow, my heart grows because of the beauty in humanity and the belief that art heals."
As always, the evening promises an unparalleled creative experience rooted in their mission and representing the spirit of diverse artistic disciplines – Fashion, Fine Arts, Music and Theatre/Media Arts.
Heaven is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser that supports their ongoing efforts, guaranteeing the growth and vitality of the organization for years to come and ensuring their ability to continue to deliver high quality arts experiences to over 40,000 medically fragile youth annually.
The Art of Elysium is an artist’s charity committed to healing the world through art by recruiting, supporting and encouraging artists to give back to individuals and populations in need globally using their creativity and artistry.
