The Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation will celebrate its Tenth Annual Gala this year.

Over the past decade the Foundation has dedicated itself to providing resources to First Nations all across Canada, providing grants and assistance to individuals and communities in four funding sectors: Arts and Culture, Health, Sports and Recreation, and Education.

The event will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, 2014 at the Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmens’ in Hamilton, Ontario.

“The Gala is our biggest fundraiser each year; we are so grateful to receive continued support from our sponsors” says Sara Awdish, Dreamcatcher’s Executive Director. “We have a special night planned for our anniversary; it will truly be an event to remember.”

This year, the evening starts off with a “Cirque”-themed reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Gala Dinner and Awards Show at 7 p.m. Performers will include soulful singer Sam Moore from Sam & Dave, Grammy Award winner Tia Carrere, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Brian Wilson, co-founder of The Beach Boys. The Awards Show and Dinner, hosted by Adam Beach, will feature celebrities and notable guests including Emmanuel Lewis, Gil Birmingham, Taboo from The Black Eyed Peas, Michelle Thrush, George Starke, Jeremiah Bitsui, John Harrington and many more.

This year as every year, Dreamcatcher Awards will be presented to five dedicated and most-deserving individuals who have made a positive impact in communities. Tomson Highway will receive the Arts and Culture award, Duncan Cree will receive the Education award, Dr. Darlene Kitty will receive the Health award, the Rochester Knighthawks will receive the Sports and Recreation award and Graham Greene will receive the Lifetime Achievement award.
