The 2014 Pennsylvania Conference for Women has announced that Robin Roberts, Co-Anchor of Good Morning America, will deliver a keynote address at the event on October 16, 2014 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

Since becoming co-anchor in 2005, Roberts has helped Good Morning America win three consecutive Emmy Awards. She has also inspired millions of viewers, sharing on the air her health battles with breast cancer and most recently, myelodyplastic syndrome, a rare blood and bone marrow disorder. Among other topics, Roberts will speak about her new memoir Everybody’s Got Something, chronicling lessons learned from her life-threatening illnesses and recovery.

“By sharing her personal health struggles in such a public and courageous way, Robin Roberts is not only an inspiration and a role model, but quite possibly a lifesaver for millions of women,” said Leslie Stiles, Board President of the Pennsylvania Conference for Women. “Robin and our other speakers define strength, poise and humanity. They encourage women to move beyond their comfort zones and challenge them to find the passion and drive to transform every aspect of their lives.”

Other speakers joining Roberts at the Conference include Lisa Belkin, senior national correspondent, Yahoo News; Jenny Bowen, founder and CEO of Half the Sky; John Gray, best-selling author of Men Are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and Work with Me: the 8 Blind Spots Between Men and Women in Business; Tara Mohr, founder and creator of Playing Big; Gail Sheehy, New York Times best-selling author of Passages and Alexa von Tobel, author, founder and CEO of LearnVest.com.

The nonpartisan, nonprofit conference is Pennsylvania’s largest personal and professional development event for women, attracting more than 5,000 attendees each year. The 11th Annual Conference will feature hundreds of speakers for a day of inspiration, reinvention and networking. Topics include leadership, career advancement, money management, health and wellness, small business and entrepreneurship, social media, branding and more.

In previous years, attendees have benefited from the insights of trailblazers such as former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, women’s rights pioneer Gloria Steinem, journalist and former co-host of The View Lisa Ling, life coach and author Martha Beck, former Olympic athlete and WNBA player Marion Jones, Pulitzer-Prize winning historian and commentator Doris Kearns Goodwin, PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi and many more.

Exclusive to the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, Local Leader Meet Ups offer attendees the chance to have one-on-one conversations with local businesswomen and community leaders, and intimate Expert Exchange sessions offer a focused discussion with industry veterans. Conference attendees also have the opportunity to participate in the popular Career Pavilion, featuring resume reviews by human resource experts, Coaches Corner (one-on-one “speed coaching” sessions with career and life coaches from the Philadelphia Chapter of the International Coach Federation), workshops on communication skills and social media, and much more.

The Conference Health & Wellness Pavilion showcases speakers and companies dedicated to improving women’s health, while onsite exhibits feature organizations and companies with products or services that appeal to women.

The Pennsylvania Conference for Women is presented by Beneficial Bank. It is also generously underwritten by corporations including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cisco Systems, Drexel University’s Lebow College of Business, Fine Wine & Good Spirits/PLCB, PPL Corporation, QVC, Radian, State Street Corporation, and Stradley Ronon.
