TV duo Ant and Dec and the Make-A-Wish Foundation made not one, not two, but three wishes come true when they met three young fans behind the scenes of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway recently.

The boys were whisked to the studios in London in their very own limousines where they then watched the dress rehearsal of the show before meeting their idols. One even had his bear signed but now doesn’t want to touch it in case the autograph wears off!

Eleven year old Joel from Bootle, Merseyside, has been through three and a half years of treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Joel has been watching Ant and Dec on TV since he was two years old, when he used to call them ‘Anton Dec’! He especially likes watching I’m a Celebrity and enjoys their fun, light-hearted presenting, so Joel was thrilled to meet the pair in person!

Lennon, aged seven from Hatfield, lives with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Lennon has had three rounds of open heart surgery and often uses a wheelchair as he tires easily. Lennon has always loved Ant and Dec’s cheeky sense of humour and loves watching anything with them in – they always make him feel better by making him laugh and taking his mind off his illness, so Lennon was over the moon when he got to meet them!

Ten year old Louis from Blackpool is living with neurofibramatosis type 1 and brainstem grade 2 astrocytoma. He has always been a big fan of Ant and Dec’s shows but missed out on watching them while he was in hospital for brain surgery, so meeting his favourite TV stars was a dream come true!

Suzanne, Louis’ mum said: “It was amazing, you have made a little boy who has been very poorly with so much going on so happy and we cannot thank Make-A-Wish enough. On Monday after our weekend, we were back at Alderhey to see Louis’ doctors and they were amazed how different he was – so full of energy, positive, and very happy. It’s like the wish has given him an inner strength. He is amazing, as is Make-A-Wish!”
