From International Women’s Day to Mother’s Day, moms and their friends in all 50 states, and 154 countries will connect to share their personal experiences

On March 7, the eve of International Women’s Day, through Mother’s Day, the United Nations Foundation, Johnson & Johnson, Baby Center and the Huffington Post are launching the Global Moms Relay, www.GlobalMomsRelay.org, a digital dialogue between moms to inspire action to help improve the lives of mothers and children everywhere.

Each day a celebrity or community leader will share a personal story of how a mother has changed his or her life, and then “pass the baton” to the next contributor. You can view the calendar of contributors on GlobalMomsRelay.org. You share, they give: each time you share one of these posts via social media, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 (per action) to help improve the health and wellbeing of moms and kids worldwide through MAMA, Shot@Life, and Girl Up. You could also Donate A Photo through the app for iOS and Android, and Johnson & Johnson will give $1 when you upload a photo for Girl Up or Shot@Life.

The Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA) delivers vital health messages to new and expectant mothers; Shot@Life, is a campaign to protect children worldwide by providing lifesaving vaccines; and Girl Up, inspires teens to raise awareness and funds for UN programs that help girls around the world go to school, see a doctor and stay safe from violence. The goal is to raise $250,000 for these global initiatives.

The Global Mom Relay co-chairs include Jennifer Lopez, actress, singer and co-founder of the Lopez Family Foundation; Lynda Lopez, journalist and co-founder of the Lopez Family Foundation; Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group; Pat Mitchell, president and CEO of the Paley Center for Media; Sarah Colamarino, vice president, strategic partnerships for Johnson & Johnson; and Aaron Sherinian, the United Nations Foundation’s VP of communications.
