January 23rd saw will.i.am and friends gather together to celebrate the third annual TRANS4M concert at the Avalon, and if Hollywood ever wanted to showcase its incredible diversity, this seemed to be the night.

In a powerful show of unity for the cause, people from all walks of life came out to support i.am.angel foundation's valuable work. The foundation strives to help young people become what they are capable of being, offering them educational opportunities, support and encouragement to achieve their dreams.

Rosie Perez spoke to the crowd about the importance of the foundation’s educational work, and will.i.am lit up the stage with his passion for the cause. With heartfelt emotions, he urged the 1800 people in attendance to really listen and hear the night’s message: Support our young people, and we will create a better future for everyone.

will.i.am has dedicated himself to the TRANS4Mation of the Boyle Heights community of East Los Angeles, where he grew up. The audience jubilantly received the news that thanks to his success at home, he is now expanding his foundation’s work to encompass new areas across the United States, starting with an event later this year in Detroit, Michigan.

After the speeches, the party got started with special performances by Chaka Khan, Sergio Mendez, Bell Biv DeVoe, Biz Markie, Doug E. Fresh, Scarface, Slick Rick, Cody Wise, Leah McFall and We Are The Future, with the music raging all night long. will.i.am jumped up and performed with his musical guests, keeping everyone dancing until the early hours, while bandmate Taboo mingled with the crowd.

Overall, the evening raised $2.5 million, allowing the i.am.angel foundation to continue its educational and transformational work, promoting their programs like STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) around the world.
