“Hope,” a song for which Nelson Mandela personally wrote and recorded lyrics has been released by international pop star Emin.
All proceeds from Emin’s sales of the song will benefit the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund.
Co-written by Russ Ballard and Chris Winter, the song has received 660,000 views on YouTube since its rush release the night of Mandela’s passing. “Hope” was originally intended to celebrate 2014 World Peace Day.
In the song, the late leader of South Africa pens a verse talking of his hope for the world. “The generosity of the human spirit can overcome all adversity. Through compassion and caring, we can create hope,” reflects Mandela.
Says Emin: “I recorded ‘Hope’ a while ago, and with the passing of Nelson Mandela, I feel it’s the right time to share it. In the memory of this great man, I count myself among the millions around the world who honor his legacy and look to the future with hope.”
EMIN recently performed to a TV audience of over a billion viewers and his new CD AMOR will be released February 2014.
