Comedian and famous animal advocate, Ricky Gervais, has joined a range of other celebrities assisting the BUAV in gaining support for its petition against a proposed beagle breeding facility in Yorkshire.

In hearing that a decision is to be made on Wednesday 13th November whether to grant permission for the facility, Ricky Gervais urged East Riding Councillors to vote against the application and mobilised his 5.2 million fans on Twitter to support and sign the BUAV’s petition.

Other high-profile spokespeople backing the petition and requesting support from their fans are Kirsty Gallacher, Chris Packham and Kimberly Wyatt.

The BUAV’s petition currently has over 30,000 signatures and representatives from the campaigning organisation will attend the planning meeting on Wednesday when the decision will be announced as to whether to permit a new facility to be built to breed and house beagles and rodents for research purposes.

You can sign the petition here.
