Don’t expect to see Danica Patrick behind the wheel of her iconic “GoDaddy green” Chevrolet on the NASCAR track this month – Danica’s GoDaddy No. 10 is sporting a bright pink paint scheme for each of the four October races as a way to raise breast cancer awareness.

“GoDaddy has been such a strong partner in the fight against breast cancer … the fact GoDaddy wanted to ‘go pink’ for the whole month of October really says a lot about our commitment to this cause,” Danica said.

Wearing her pink GoDaddy sneakers in New York City this week, Danica unveiled GoDaddy’s 2013 No. 10 Chevrolet on network television. Danica’s first ‘pink’ race is set for the Hollywood Casino 400 Sunday in Kansas City.

In addition to the eye-catching pink color scheme, GoDaddy is teaming up with the Public Interest Registry to donate $50,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. GoDaddy is also engaging customers with its ‘Round-up’ for charity program, which encourages customers to round their purchase up to the nearest dollar with proceeds going to support breast cancer research. Fans at the track who buy merchandise from Danica’s NASCAR trailer will be contributing because GoDaddy is also donating a portion of the October proceeds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. Of those, nearly 400,000 succumb to the disease.

GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving is one of the many people whose family has been impacted by breast cancer. His mom has the distinction as the longest-surviving breast cancer patient in New Mexico. “My mom is an amazing woman, who not only is surviving breast cancer, but is thriving … living an active lifestyle and giving a lot of inspiration to the people she meets,” Irving said. “Our commitment to the cause right now at GoDaddy is to stand up and do our part financially, but also to inspire more people to join the fight against breast cancer.”

GoDaddy driver James Hinchcliffe is looking to add a little inspiration on the IndyCar side. ‘Hinch’ is driving a pink version of his No. 27 Chevrolet in this weekend’s Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston races, both Saturday and Sunday.

“I’ve been told real men wear pink, so I am all for it,” said Hinchcliffe, who like Danica is wearing pink GoDaddy sneakers today as a visible sign of solidarity. “But seriously, it’s a great opportunity to support a fantastic cause and I’m really happy GoDaddy invited us to be a part of their campaign. They have been tremendous supporters of breast cancer research in the past. It’s great to see GoDaddy keep this effort going and for us to help out in our little way.”
