Superstar singer/songwriter Martina McBride and her nationwide volunteer group, Team Martina, recently donated over $40,000.00 to Nashville’s Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, and now her fans are focusing their efforts to help build a world class playground for children of all abilities and needs in Atlanta.
Team Martina has partnered with Crowdrise to raise at least $20,000 for the Chastain Park Conservancy Playground, Play Chastain, and the campaign will culminate with Martina’s September 28, 2013 performance at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
Fans are encouraged to visit Team Martina’s Sound Check for Kids page at www.Crowdrise.com to participate in the fundraiser. The first 50 fans who raise a minimum of $200 will be invited to an exclusive party at Martina’s sound check prior to the concert that evening. Anyone who donates at least $15 will have a chance to win Martina’s personal copy of Pat Benatar's memoir. Donors of $25 and above will be entered into sweepstakes to win the dress Martina wore at the 2013 Kentucky Derby. Click here for sweepstakes details. Additional prizes are available for top fundraisers, and details are available on the website.
“Team Martina is committed to making the world a better place through volunteering and connecting with others,” said Martina. “It’s a real community, and we are excited about growing it and having more and more people take part. This fundraiser goes to help kids in Atlanta have a safe and beautiful place to play, which is such an important part of childhood. When I imagine the fun and memories this park will make for so many children and their families it’s a great feeling. And Crowdrise has made it so easy to help by either starting a fundraiser to raise funds for the park, or by doing something as simple as just clicking a button to donate.”
