Celebrity Ocean Activists celebrated World Oceans Day in Santa Monica, CA on Saturday evening at the Inaugural Oceana Beach House presented by Nautica with support from LA Confidential Magazine.
The event focused on the victories of Oceana, the world’s largest international nonprofit organization dedicated solely to protecting the world’s oceans and ensuring our seas can increase in biodiversity and help to feed the one billion people who depend on the oceans for food.
The event co-hosts Aimee Teegarden (lead of CW’s forthcoming Star-Crossed and formerly on NBC’s Friday Night Lights), Keegan Allen and Tyler Blackburn (ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars – returning with new season Tuesday, June 11th on ABC Family) were joined by celebrity supporters Elsa Pataky, Sam Trammell (HBO’s True Blood – returning with new season June 16th), Bethany Joy Lenz (new to cast of Showtime’s Dexter – returning June 30th and formerly on CW’s One Tree Hill for 9 seasons), Maya Gabeira (Champion Big Wave Surfer), Jesse Spencer (NBC’s Chicago Fire) Nadine Velazquez, Emily Osment, Leonor Varela, Ryan Newman (Nickelodeon’s See Dad Run) and more. Teegarden’s Star-Crossed co-stars, Chelsea Gilligan, Greg Finley and Grey Damon came to learn more about the cause from Aimee and show their support. Recording artist Brett Dennen and DJ Benjamin Walker, provided a live performance and tracks, respectively.
“I grew up in California, so it means a huge deal to me to work with an organization that has action behind what they say. I’m hoping that tonight will inspire another wave of supporters to get involved with Oceana,” said Teegarden during a speech to the party’s attendees.
Oceana Beach House guests were treated to Hors d’oeuvres on the beach at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, CA, and served drinks generously provided by Chandon, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and Zico Pure Premium Coconut Water.
This inaugural event was presented by Nautica, a long-time supporter of Oceana. Nautica has generously supported Oceana’s mission to protect the world’s oceans since 2008. The evening was also supported by the exclusive media partner LA Confidential.
