Alex’s “Original” Lemonade Stand, where the dream began and continues as a promise of hope for all children and families affected by childhood cancer, will return on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 10am – 3pm, at Penn Wynne Elementary School, 250 East Haverford Road, in Wynnewood, PA.

The 2013 Alex’s “Original” Event is sponsored by GEICO, Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms, Liberty Me, Northwestern Mutual, Sila Heating & Air Conditioning, The King Family and Volvo Cars of North America.

In commemoration of the annual event, actress and Foundation Youth Spokesperson, Bailee Madison will visit the stand that started it all. Madison, who has shown immense support for the battle against childhood cancer, is a shining example of one of the pillars that Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is based upon – that you are never too young to make a difference. Madison will attend the stand from 11am-1pm.

Appropriately named, Alex’s “Original” Lemonade Stand, Alex’s friends and family continue to hold her stand, which has evolved into a family fun event complete with food, games, crafts, face-painting, music, raffles, and (of course) lemonade, held at the school Alex attended, Penn Wynne Elementary School. Amidst the fun is a butterfly release to commemorate and celebrate the lives of all children fighting cancer as well as those who have lost their life to the disease.

Founded by Alex Scott (1996-2004) in 2004, National Lemonade Days is a three day national event that grew out of Alex’s front yard lemonade stand, and is held every year over the same June weekend. During Lemonade Days, dedicated volunteers host thousands of Alex’s Lemonade Stands across the country, raising over $1 million for childhood cancer research in one weekend. June 2013 will mark the 10th Annual Lemonade Days with an estimated 10,000 volunteers at over 2,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands and events around the nation making a difference for children with cancer. Lemonade Days 2013 is set for June 7, 8 and 9!
