Saffyre Sanctuary: Celebrity Supporters

Saffyre Sanctuary is a rescue and rehabilitation program that cares for horses that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. By allowing them to rediscover their true nature, the sanctuary provides every opportunity for them to experience the possibility of enjoying a second career, or offer them a well deserved retirement due to soundness issues, age, or owner hardships.

Saffyre Sanctuary assists homeless horses in finding their forever person. Through Saffyre’s networks, they successfully place the horses in homes that give them a new lease on life. If they are unable to physically perform in their new life path, Saffyre tries to find other loving places where they can live in peace and comfort or serve as companion equines.

Saffyre Sanctuary specializes in rescuing horses that would have no other chance of being saved. These horses are ones that have behavior issues, or are in need of a lengthy recovery and complex rehabilitation procedures. Saffyre’s focus on quality, not quantity, enables them to give the horses in their care the very best chance of complete physical, mental and emotional recovery.

Volunteer opportunities are provided to children and the community, which emphasize the importance of proper equine care, ownership responsibility, and the consequences of neglect. Through the interaction with horses, participants learn empathy, compassion, cooperation, and trust. But most importantly, how to understand their nature and become one with them and the world we share.

How you can help

As a 100% volunteer organization, Saffyre Sanctuary have no paid staff or board members, and everyone donates their time assisting with feeding, cleaning, training, special projects, and fundraising events. Their expenses are significant, so any amount, or anything you do for is is greatly appreciated! The continued success and operation of our rescue is dependent upon those who believe in and support their mission. You can help them by making a donation, becoming a “Sanctuary Saint” (monthly supporter), volunteering your time, or just spreading the word about what they do. Not only do they accept gifts in any amount, but they also have a wish list on their web site. They always accept donations of major items, such as cars, horse trailers, farm equipment, and office equipment that can be used or sold to benefit the horses.
