MOSTe is a mentoring, college access and success program with the mission to mentor and empower girls from underserved area of Los Angeles County to become the next generation of college-educated women.
Founded in 1986, they partner with six Title 1 middle schools and have a presence at more than 30 Los Angeles high schools and 50 colleges across the country. MOSTe serves approximately 265 girls at a given time, from 7th grade through college, providing a robust support and development system to help them flourish academically and socially, and ultimately, become college-educated leaders in their communities. More than 90% of the young women in their college programs are first-generation college students.
How you can help
In addition to donations for their programs and scholarships, they’re seeking to create potential partnerships, engage speakers and facilitators for their workshops and their annual Lanterns Luncheon, find internships for their college scholars. and to recruit professional women as volunteer mentors.
