Healing Arts Reaching Kids works to bring healing and coping techniques through creative experiences that allow children to express the fears and triumphs that may be a part of their illness or injury.
Children who have suffered tremendous health issues need a way to reawaken their souls. The Artists Program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles is utilizing art and music in a non-tradtional way— the goal is not to make a perfect end product but to to unleash the spirit of spontaneity which allows the healing to begin.
The creative arts therapists collaborate with the medical teams to work towards the treatment goals using the creative arts as a medium.
Art, music, dance and poetry become the communication between the patient and the healer.
