Stewart Rahr is the largest donor in the history of Make-A-Wish Foundation, responsible for making countless dreams come true for the ‘Make a Wish’ children. He was moved to help children based on his own experiences suffering from Polio as a child. From the ages of 7-10, Rahr needed to wear leg braces, and undergo therapy, in order to walk. These challenges led him to want to make a difference to others, and try to stop other children from having to suffer as he did.
“Each day of my life I am guided by the reality, sadly to say, that tomorrow I will have one less day to make a difference in this world,” Rahr declared during a 2013 Make-A-Wish Foundation event.
His donations have benefitted hundreds of organizations including: Buoniconti Fund To Cure Paralysis, Arnold Palmer Foundation, Keep A Child Alive, The Prostate Cancer Foundation, the NYU School of Medicine, Faster Cures, Robin Hood Foundation, Melanoma Research Alliance, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces and many more.
He started the Stewart J. Rahr Foundation to support youth, education and medical research.
