Wife of Nelson Mandela, Graça Machel is a founding member of The Elders. She was delegate to 1998 UNICEF conference in Zimbabwe and is President of National Commission of UNESCO.
Graça works to improve the lives of children, placing orphans in village homes, studying the impact of armed conflict on children, and helping to rehabilitate children back into families. She has received a Humanitarian Award from InterAction, and an award from CARE for her philanthropic work.
