One of Mozambique’s best musicians, Santos uses his music lyrics to spread information on good hygiene and sanitation, as well as on HIV/AIDS. Santos contracted polio from poor quality well water as a child and lost part of his leg to the disease.
Santos co-founded Estamos in the late 1990s to further the development of clean water supplies and sanitation education.
