Bootsy Collins rose to fame with James Brown in the late 60s as a bassist and singer/songwriter. In 1968, he created ‘The Pacemakers’, a band that later went on to tour with James Brown under a different name.
In 2010 he created the Bootsy Collins Foundation, a charity that aims to promote learning by offering chances for all to experience life through music programs and career opportunities.
He is also an Honoury Board Member of Little Kids Rock and donated one of his bass gutairs to the charity when he visited a class of music students in Jersey City.
